White Square (Kikar Levana, 1977–1988), artist Dani Karavan’s iconic work at Edith Wolfson Park, Tel Aviv, consists of geometrical solids cast in white concrete as a tribute to the city of Tel Aviv and its modern architecture. Like other works by Karavan, this environmental sculpture, located on a hilltop overlooking the city, invites the visitor to assimilate in it, climb it, enter its empty spaces and linger in them. At the southeastern corner of the sculpture is an observation tower, with pipeline tunnel playing inside it.
The conservation project included architectural renovation of the concrete from which the entire work is made, removal of late additions, installation of lighting and signage.
